English
MochabearSoft (“we”) does not collect personal data through the Foldable Bible app (“the app”).
INTERNET permission. It cannot connect to any server or send data. The app keeps the following in its private app storage on this device. Other apps cannot read it, and we cannot see it.
The app does not ask for microphone, camera, photos and files, location, contacts, phone, or notification permission. It uses only the permission below, which Android grants at install. It gives no access to personal data.
Permission the app uses
| Foreground service (media playback) | Keeps Read aloud playing when you turn off the screen or switch apps, and lets you pause or resume it from the notification. |
|---|
Cover photos are chosen with the Android photo picker. Only the one photo you pick is passed to the app; the app cannot see your photo library.
When you tap the microphone button, the speech recognition app on your device (for example, Google) opens, listens, and turns your speech into text. The app receives only that text. The app has no microphone permission and never receives or stores audio. Whether speech is processed on the device or on a server depends on the policy of the company that makes the speech recognition app.
The app passes Bible text to the text-to-speech (TTS) engine on your device, which reads it out. Nothing but the Bible text is passed. How the engine handles it depends on the policy of the company that makes it.
When you share a verse, its text and reference go to the app you pick (messages, chat, and so on). Copy puts it on the device clipboard. This happens only when you tap it, and nothing reaches us.
If backup is on for your device, Android backs up app data to your Google Account and carries it over when you move to a new device. Android and Google handle this backup; we cannot see it.
The app’s backup rules are the same for cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.
Backup rules
| Included | Everything in section 2: bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading place, days read, recent searches, settings, and the cover photo copy |
|---|---|
| Excluded | The Bible text database shipped with the app (bible.sqlite) and its temporary file (bible.sqlite.tmp), and the temporary file made while copying a cover photo (cover_photo.tmp). The Bible text is excluded because the app can rebuild it. |
Tapping Contact us or Report a bug in Settings → Help · Contact opens a Google Form in your web browser. That page is a Google service outside the app.
